RIT's glass program is thrilled to host Selva Aparicio online as part of its 2024 Visiting Artist Lecture Series. The online talk will be live streamed at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, in the Glass Classroom (Booth Hall, 3634).

She will discuss her work and career, which engages ideas about memory, intimacy, cycles, and the temporality of life at the intersection of craft practice and speculative sculpture. This talk is open to all at RIT.

Aparicio received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2015) and her MFA in sculpture from Yale University (2017). Recent projects include a major solo exhibition at the DePaul Art Museum in 2024, as well as outdoor permanent sculptures for both the Belgium Beaufort 2024 Triennale and Italy’s Heraclea Archaeological Park. She is based jointly in her native Spain and Alfred, N.Y., where she is currently assistant professor of sculpture in Alfred University’s mixed media & fibers program.
