Informational Webinar: RIT’s Future Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) Program

The College of Health Sciences and Technology is excited to share that RIT is preparing to launch a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD)—a program that blends human-centered care with the innovation RIT is known for to shape the next generation of leaders in a rapidly evolving field.
Occupational therapy is a growing field, ranked #8 on U.S. News & World Report’s list of Best Health Care Jobs. Demand is increasing, and (when approved) RIT’s OTD program will take a distinctive approach by integrating technology, the arts, and design—empowering students to reimagine how they care, create, and innovate to expand possibilities for everyday living.
RIT will begin accepting applications when approval is granted. We invite you to join Program Director Chris Alterio for an informational webinar on Wednesday, April 23, at 7 p.m. to learn more about the program and what’s ahead.
Here’s what you’ll learn in the Webinar:
- What occupational therapy is—and why it’s one of the fastest-growing health care careers
- How RIT’s new OTD program brings together health, technology, design, and creativity
- What makes this program different from traditional OT pathways
- How students from a wide range of majors can prepare for this doctoral degree
- Hands-on learning opportunities and real-world applications
- What’s next: program launch timeline, approval process, and how to stay in the loop
