Interior Design Lecture Series: Kathryn Walter
Please join RIT’s interior design and industrial design programs for a lecture by Kathryn Walter. Inspired by her family’s rich history in the felt industry, Walter founded FELT, her own company and label, in 2000. Since then, she has dedicated her career to working almost exclusively with manufactured felts through commissions, exhibitions, and a product line.
The talk is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, in Wegmans Theater (MAGIC Spell Studios).
As an artist, designer, director and maker, Walter draws from her extensive experience in sculpture and installation to focus on interiors projects. She has developed projects for residential, commercial and institutional sites, working with renowned architects and interior designers across North America, including Yabu Pushelberg, SO-IL and Diller Scofidio + Renfro. Her FELT works have been exhibited at the Gardiner Museum, the Royal Ontario Museum and Design Exchange in Toronto, as well as the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum in New York.
