Lecture: Children's Author and Educator Mary Anne Buckley

RIT's visual arts-all grades (MST) Distinguished Guest Speaker Series presents Mary Anne Buckley, a children's author and educator.

The session, titled "Nurturing Mindful Learners in Caring Communities," will focus on embedding social emotion skills into everyday teaching to give students time to practice the skills needed to be successful. Topics include how stress and anxiety impact the learning environment, how three deep breaths help students self-regulate, and how students and educators can support one another when feeling strong emotions.

The talk is set for 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, in Booth Hall, room 3540. It is for College of Art and Design students, faculty, and staff.
