Love Data: Data Here, Data There, Data Everywhere
Join Dr. Raj Murthy, the J. Warren McClure Professor of Marketing at the Saunders College of Business for a talk on the ubiquity of data.
Data is everywhere, in many forms, and captured in more ways is known. Organizations capture, curate, compete and monetize this data. Contemporary data that is prized goes well beyond traditional market surveys, interviews, and publicly available data. Everything we do online and a lot of what we do offline is tracked and processed to extract insight. Data is in every form, numbers, location, text and even selfies. Companies can now exploit automated object recognition from images, live data collection from cameras before you take an image, satellite data, and even personal biometric data such as facial features and voiceprints. In this new data driven world, just about everything is data.
