Transitioning from studying physics to turning it into a career can seem daunting at first. We'll discuss this topic by taking stock of the numbers, how many Bachelors, Masters, or PhD degrees are awarded each year? What types of jobs do they pursue afterwards? Finally, we'll discuss tips and resources available to you as you embark on your own career journey.
Speaker Bio:
Srikanth Srinivasan got his bachelor's and PhD degrees at The Cooper Union and Princeton University, respectively. He's been a staff member at IBM Quantum at Yorktown Heights, NY, working on improving superconducting qubits and quantum computing. He's presenting this talk on behalf of the American Physical Society, as a 2021 Career Mentoring Fellow.
