Post Grad Service: Urban Fellows & Rochester Youth Year Virtual Info Session
At this virtual information session - participants will hear from Alumni and Recruiters for the Rochester Youth Year & Urban Fellows AmeriCorps VISTA programs:
Rochester Youth Year is a year-long AmeriCorps VISTA program that engages and empowers local graduates to strengthen the capacity of community agencies in an effort to alleviate the effects of poverty for Rochester youth and families. The service term is 365 days, beginning in August, and members work full time with local community organizations. Our program also offers monthly meetings and trainings to encourage cohort bonding and professional development. Members receive a modest living stipend, healthcare allowance, twenty total sick days and personal days, and, upon completion of service, an education award or cash stipend.
Urban Fellows, is a 10-week AmeriCorps VISTA summer program that engages local undergraduates in ~300-hour fellowships with community organizations, faculty- and community-led urban issue dialogues, and community events. The service term is from May to July, and members work with community organizations and attend weekly urban issues seminars. Members receive a modest living stipend, free housing, and prorated end of service benefits.
