RIT Observatory Open House
RIT Observatory Open House
Event Status: On Schedule (updated 10/8/22 at 1:00pm)
We recommend visitors dress VERY warmly (think: big fluffy hats)!
See the moons of Jupiter, the rings of Saturn, and craters on the Moon -- at the RIT Observatory Open House.
The RIT Observatory invites members of the Rochester community to come and see three big targets with us: Jupiter, Saturn, and the Moon. On Saturday night, Oct 8, starting at 9 PM, visitors may visit the Observatory and look through our telescopes at these extraterrestrial worlds. In addition to the planets, we'll show you how to recognize a constellation or two, and answer (or try to answer) all your space-related questions. We'll be open for business between 9 PM and 10:30 PM. Please dress warmly and bring a flashlight or smartphone. This event does depend upon the weather, and may be cancelled. Please check with us around noon on Oct 8 to find out if the event will proceed.
