RIT's Hip Hop Dance Camp
Celebrate 50 years of hip hop! Join us as RIT hosts its first ever Hip Hop Dance Camp this spring featuring FOUR hip hop dance workshops (at RIT) and inspireJAM (an all styles dance battle event at U of R).
RIT/NTID Department of Performing Arts and Dance at RIT are putting together their first hip hop dance camp for spring 2023 March 24 and 25. The event will take place over the course of a weekend. The camp is meant to serve as an opportunity to further grow and unite the RIT street dance community by providing a variety of hip hop dance workshops/classes to advance their dance skills and knowledge. All levels are welcome. Class levels will range from beginner to intermediate with each class focusing on a different technique and/or style within hip hop dance.
We will be collaborating with the University of Rochester as part of their annual inspireDANCE festival. Renowned choreographer and creative director, Shaheem Sanchez, will be teaching one of the dance workshops and host a talk discussing his professional experience in the dance industry while also being deaf.
