Into the ROC: Making Maple Syrup at Timber Trails Forest Farm
Come learn about sustainable maple sugaring at Timber Trails Forrest Farm, home to New York State's first-ever 100% electric, carbon-neutral maple syrup farm! Enjoy a walk through their woods, grounds, and sugar shacks. Learn about the process of larger-scale harvesting of sap and conversion to maple syrup with special attention to the sustainable principles and strategies used to build and run the innovative Timber Trails Farm.
Product samples will be provided, and be sure to bring spending money for the gift shop. Dress for the outdoors, as you'll be outside for extended periods of time, rain, snow, or shine. Wear footwear for hiking on unmaintained, snowy, muddy, or wet trails.
We recommend bringing water and a snack with you for the trip. The bus will leave promptly at 9 a.m. from the Sentinel Statue.
