The RIT ASL and Deaf Studies Community Center will celebrate the 313th birthday of Abbé de I‘Épée during NTID’s ninth  DeafMute Banquet 5-8 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025, in the Dyer Arts Center, LBJ Hall, on the RIT campus. I‘Épée, known as the “Father of the Deaf” in education, founded the first free school for deaf people in Paris, France.
