Ten Fold: Industrial Design Exhibition

University Gallery presents an exhibition of folding chairs conceived, iterated and built by 10 industrial design students from Associate Professor Amos Scully's Senior ID Studio.

An opening event is set for 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16. "Ten Fold" runs through Feb. 8.

The students made the chairs over the course of the fall semester using the CNC technology in the SHED and furniture-grade plywood. Students designed the mechanics, structure and unique aesthetic, expressing a variety of approaches, including historical archetypes of folding chairs, to new explorations from hyper flat to compact, to lounge comfort.

The show is curated by Amos Scully.
