'Transient Motifs' Opening at RIT City Art Space

This duo-exhibition at RIT City Art Space features two artists whose long friendship over time, various locations and shared experiences of navigating the world as deaf and hard of hearing have kept them threaded together. While alumna Laural Hartman employs her heightened sense of peripheral environment to create a place of her own, Aaron Swindle borrows motifs from his previous works and recycles them into new, previously unrecognizable images. Both of us share a love of abstract expressionism and we strive to maintain a voice that is heard through the visual cacophony.
