Professor’s NSF Grant Funds Computer Chip Security During Manufacturing
Michael Zuzak, assistant professor of computer engineering, was awarded a two-year National Science Foundation grant to develop solutions to ensure computer chips are secured throughout the manufacturing process.
Professor Receives Prestigious NSF CAREER Award
Hanif Rahbari, an assistant professor of cybersecurity, received a prestigious National Science Foundation Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) award and $600,000 grant to enhance the security of connected vehicle technology.
Company Co-founded by RIT Professor Wins $1 Million at GENIUS NY Competition
Airtonomy, a company owned by RIT data science professor Travis Desell, was awarded the $1 million grand prize at the GENIUS NY international accelerator competition. The company was selected from more than 600 applicants during the year-long GENIUS NY program, the world’s largest business competition focused on unmanned systems, cross-connected platforms, and other technology-based sectors.

RIT Among First Universities Supported by Google’s Cybersecurity Clinics Fund
With $500,000 from the Google Cybersecurity Clinics Fund, RIT will help build a cyber workforce and strengthen digital defenses in local communities by deploying teams of students to provide free cyber assessment services and resources to community groups, including nonprofits, small businesses, municipal organizations, and school districts.

Kellen Dorchen ’22 (computer science MS) won a GEM Fellowship to help him complete his degree. GEM is a network of corporations, government laboratories, universities, and research institutions who work to enhance the value of the nation’s human capital by increasing the participation of underrepresented groups in graduate STEM programs.
