Human Perception and Performance Lab
This laboratory facilitates research on perception and related human behaviors. This includes using eye-tracking and psychophysical methods to examine basic perception (like how visual illusions work and symmetry perception), the effects of augmented reality displays on complex tasks (like driving), examining face perception (working with the Attention, Cognition and Emotion Lab), and exploring the relationship between color vision and other aspects of perception. Dr. Herbert and the RIT HPPL collaborate with colleagues in the Color Science program, the Multidisciplinary Vision Research Laboratory (MVRL) hosted in the Center for Imaging Science, faculty and students in Computer Engineering, and involves students in Grand Challenges Scholars Program related research.
