Grad Finds Ph.D. Program Success With Skills Developed in Science, Technology, and Public Policy BS/MS

December 18, 2024

“As a student in the Science, Technology, and Public Policy BS/MS program, I gained an appreciation for the rules, regulations, and policies that govern my field of undergraduate study, biomedical engineering.

I was able to personalize my education by focusing on topics of interest, such the Biologics Price Competition and Innovation Act, which guides the development and approval of biologic and biosimilar therapeutics.

Not only did I become well-versed on policies relevant to my intended career in biopharmaceutical drug discovery and development, I learned crucial practical skills that prepared me for further education at the graduate level (Ph.D.).”

— Cara Biddle, Ph.D. student at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center UTHealth Houston, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Biomedical Engineering BS '23, Science, Technology, and Public Policy MS '23.
