Adam Stone named to RIT/NTID Alumni Association

Adam Stone ’04 has been named to the board of the Rochester Institute of Technology/National Technical Institute for the Deaf’s Alumni Association.

Adam Stone ’04 has been named to the board of the Rochester Institute of Technology/National Technical Institute for the Deaf’s Alumni Association.

Stone is director of Analytics Engineering at Brooklyn Data Co in New York City. He leads a team of 20 engineers across the United States and Europe who partner with clients to help build data platforms and data analytics capabilities. He has published in a number of data industry publications on topics such as data business partnerships and A/B product experimentation. Prior to moving to New York, he worked in Edinburgh, Scotland, and London, U.K. at Convo Communications, Deliveroo, and Netlify.     

Stone earned a bachelor’s degree in professional and technical communications with highest honors from Rochester Institute of Technology; a master’s in teaching and learning from the University of California, San Diego; and a doctorate in educational neuroscience from Gallaudet University.

Prior to moving into data science and analytics engineering at tech companies, he was a kindergarten and first grade teacher at P.S. 347, the American Sign Language & English Lower School in New York City and a postdoctoral scholar at University of California, San Diego, where he published original research in language acquisition and sign language development in infants and children with Rain Bosworth, associate professor at NTID’s Department of Liberal Studies.

“I’m delighted to reconnect with my alma mater by joining the NTIDAA board and supporting the university’s strategic goals to provide top-notch college education and prepare their deaf and hard-of-hearing students for success in technical careers,” said Stone.

Stone also is a trustee at the New York School for the Deaf, Fanwood.

To help foster interaction and growth among 10,000+ RIT/NTID alumni, the NTID Alumni Association Board of Directors are individuals representing a variety of geographical areas, graduation years, diverse backgrounds, and various degree programs.
