Altay, Lewis, Diaz-Acosta co-author study on agricultural waste nanofibers
Bilge Altay, assistant professor in the Department of Packaging and Graphic Media Science, co-authored “Flow dynamics of agricultural waste nanofibers: shear, temperature, and oscillatory insights,” published in Cellulose, with Christopher Lewis, associate professor in the Department of Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Technology, and Carlos Diaz-Acosta, professor in the Department of Packaging and Graphic Media Science. The study examines cellulose nanofibers derived from corn stover and cotton gin trash, with the findings highlighting shear-thinning behavior, nanofiber gel formation, and enhanced viscoelastic properties, contributing to sustainable advancements in papermaking, packaging, and composites.
