Be Prepared for RIT Alert Test

RIT will conduct a test of the RIT Alert emergency notification system at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, March 28. Please ensure your contact information is up-to-date in the RIT Alert system

RIT Alert is designed to promptly inform the campus community of imminent threats to the health or safety of students, faculty, and staff on or near the Henrietta campus. Examples of such threats include severe weather events (e.g., tornadoes or storms that may lead to class cancellations and suspension of on-campus activities), fires, or threats of violence. The system can send notifications via text message, voice message (mobile or landline), social media, and email. These messages will include immediate actions required by RIT community members.

Following the initial emergency notification through RIT Alert, additional information will be provided via RITmail, RIT Facebook, RIT X (formerly Twitter), and www.rit.edu

An ALL CLEAR message will be broadcast on RIT Alert once the emergency is resolved.

To report an emergency or imminent threat, contact RIT Public Safety. This includes situations where you experience, observe, have knowledge of, or perceive an imminent threat of violence on campus.
