Calling all campus communities to share stories of the pandemic and build our next chapter

Event aims to make meaning from our experiences and build momentum for moving forward

The last two years have profoundly impacted RIT students, faculty, and staff. The Fram Advisory Boards and the COVID stories planning committee are inviting all our campus communities to an interactive series of participatory sessions exploring the impact of the pandemic on our lives—personal and professional, and contributing to our thinking about where we go from here.

The day-long event on March 15, Critically Thinking About our COVID stories, will be segmented into a series of Zoom-based discussions, panels, and training sessions. We aim to learn from community members from all our RIT campuses. Participants will sign up for those sessions most impactful to them, spending a half-hour or many hours contributing to our lessons learned.

“As a community, we have a responsibility to share and learn from each other about our experiences throughout the pandemic,” said Jennifer Schneider, Eugene Fram Chair in Applied Critical Thinking. “This event is about us, by us. It’s an opportunity to engage through dialogue and storytelling, so we critically think about our experiences and use what we have learned to build momentum for the future.”

Topics throughout the day include sessions on navigating change, student living and learning perspectives, reconnection, teaching and learning practices, student success, misinformation, and using the past to inform the present and future.

Interpreters are provided upon request and subject to availability. Please make your request at MyAccess.rit.edu

Registration for all sessions is available on the Critically Thinking about our COVID Stories webpage.
