Emmy Skiles, a second-year 3D digital design student from Old Saybrook, Conn., was one of the students selected from the Charrette to walk during Fashion Week. Skiles drew inspiration for her wearable sculpture from a stuffed elephant plush she had since she was a child.

According to Professor Juan Carlos Caballero-Perez, who coordinates RIT’s involvement with Fashion Week every year, participating in the event also gives students the time and space to form a stronger sense of community with one another.
