RIT held its annual Retiree Luncheon June 7 in the Gordon Field House and Activities Center. More than 500 university retirees and guests attended the event, which featured lunch, presentations, and opportunities to connect with colleagues.

Debbie Stendardi, former vice president for Government and Community Relations, was honored at the annual RIT Retiree Luncheon for her 41 years of service to the university. During her time at the university, Stendardi advocated for financial aid programs to enable more students to benefit from an RIT education. She also helped secure funding for groundbreaking initiatives, including Golisano Institute for Sustainability, MAGIC Spell Studios, AMPrint Center for Advanced Technology, and most recently, the ESL Global Cybersecurity Institute. Stendardi retired in 2020.

R. Roger Remington, the former Vignelli Distinguished Professor of Design and the longest-serving faculty member at RIT based on his retirement in 2020, was honored at the annual RIT Retiree Luncheon for his 57 years of service to the university. In addition to building a nationally recognized graphic design program in RIT’s College of Art and Design, Remington transformed the university into an international archival resource for design, earning many of the industry’s most distinguished accolades along the way.

RIT President David Munson and Christine Licata, RIT vice provost for Academic Affairs, honored the late Barry Culhane at the RIT Retiree Luncheon on June 7. Culhane, who died Nov. 13, 2022, was Executive Assistant to the President and was instrumental in organizing the retirement event, along with the university’s Imagine RIT: Creativity and Innovation Festival and Veterans Day Breakfast. Licata was married to Culhane for 32 years.
