Cary Graphic Arts Collection hosts gallery talk on Thursday
Scott McCarney to discuss ‘Books & Pieces’ exhibition
“Books & Pieces, Works by Scott McCarney” is a new exhibition from the Artists’ Book Collection of The Cary Graphic Arts Collection on view through March 23. McCarney, a local Rochester book artist and teacher, will discuss his innovative bookwork process during a gallery talk from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday in The Wallace Center at RIT, 2nd floor.
The exhibition features the RIT holdings of McCarney’s work with additional artifacts and process material describing the conception and realization of his work.
During his career, McCarney has exhibited at the Center for Book Arts and Printed Matter Inc. in New York City, Tower Fine Arts Gallery in Brockport, Minnesota Center for Book Arts in Minneapolis, University of the West of England, and other locations throughout the U.S., United Kingdom, Australia and more. He received his B.F.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University, and his M.F.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo and Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester.
