You’ve seen the marketing ads on Google, Yahoo, Bing and Facebook. Have you ever wondered how advertisers create and manage their ads, target audiences or measure their product results from the Web?

David Kidder, CEO of Clickable Inc., co-founded an all-in-one solution that makes online advertising “Simple, Sophisticated and Profitable.” Clickable reduces the time and complexity of managing multiple ad networks and also offers personalized services and options for campaign strategy, creative development, campaign launches, tracking optimization and ongoing opportunity analysis.

As an entrepreneur who led the creation of four startup companies, Kidder will discuss his visionary outlook as keynote speaker at the eighth annual RIT Entrepreneurs Conference hosted by the E. Philip Saunders College of Business at Rochester Institute of Technology. Kidder will deliver his remarks from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Oct. 21 in the B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences auditorium.

“I will be talking about the critical insights on starting and scaling startups,” Kidder explains. “Based on my new book, The Startup Playbook, we will walk through some of these key theses of some of the best entrepreneurs living today—drawing knowledge from the founders of LinkedIn, Tesla, Space-X, Honest Tea, Flickr, Spanx, TED and others.”

Richard DeMartino, director of RIT’s Simone Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, says the RIT community also has tremendous interest in monetizing the Web and monetizing online activities.

“We probably have 4,000 or 5,000 students on campus who are working with digital arts, programming, or have a general interest in social advertising. We are excited to have David Kidder speak at the conference because he is the world-renowned expert in monetizing the Web and this fits right into the strengths of RIT.”

Kidder graduated from RIT in 1994 with a degree in industrial design and received I.D. magazine's International Design Award and Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2008.

Prior to Clickable, Kidder co-founded SmartRay Network, a mobile advertising delivery pioneer acquired by LifeMinders. Previously, he helped lead corporate development at THINK New Ideas, a publicly traded e-business and interactive advertising firm, and founded Net-X, a Web authoring and Internet advertising services company later acquired by Target Vision. Kidder is also is the creator and co-author of The New York Times bestselling book series “The Intellectual Devotional,” published by Rodale.

Participants are invited to a continental breakfast at 7:30 a.m. in Golisano Hall, followed by concurrent sessions/panels from 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

A sampling of sessions include: Starting a Business, Entrepreneurial Teambuilding, Health Care and Entrepreneurship, Funding Your Venture in Uncertain Times and Franchising as an Entrepreneurial Endeavor.

The conference is open to the public and the cost, including a boxed lunch, is $25. The event is free for RIT alumni, students, faculty and staff—with a lunch fee ranging from $7 to $10. Spaces are limited; online registration is available at the RIT Entrepreneurs Conference website, or call Dana Pierce at 585-475-2199.

Note: One of nine colleges at RIT, the E. Philip Saunders College of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB International) and enrolls more than 1,200 undergraduate and graduate students. The Saunders College and its entrepreneurial Venture Creations Incubator work in partnership with RIT’s Albert J. Simone Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship to integrate business education with RIT’s world leading technical and creative programs.
