Sept. 19 concert brings 50 undergraduate and graduate music students to campus
The next installment of Rochester Institute of Technology’s Performing Artists Concert Series features the world famous Eastman Wind Ensemble, with a core of about 50 undergraduate and graduate music students from University of Rochester’s Eastman School of Music.
The concert will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, in Ingle Auditorium, Student Alumni Union, RIT. The ensemble—under the direction of Mark Davis Scatterday— has recorded Manhattan Music (2008) with the Canadian Brass, which was nominated for a 2009 Canadian Juno Award, and Stravinsky’s L’Histoire du Soldat (2013), in celebration of the group’s 60th anniversary.
Tickets—$5 for students, $15 for faculty/staff/alumni and $20 for the general public—can be purchased at the Gordon Field House and Activities Center box office or at the door on concert night, if available. For Visa and MasterCard orders, call 585-475-4121.
The series is presented by RIT’s College of Liberal Arts Performing Arts program.
