Harvest of Handmade Pumpkins Ripe for Picking at Annual RIT Fundraiser Oct. 17

Blown-glass pumpkins made by RIT faculty and students. The annual Glass Pumpkin Patch sale is from 11 a.m. to 4 p,m,, Oct. 17, in the Red Barn on the RIT campus.
There is an abundance of glass pumpkins in this year’s harvest of beautifully produced creations made by artists at Rochester Institute of Technology.
The fifth annual Glass Pumpkin Patch, a popular community fundraiser, will be held on the RIT campus from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 17, in the Red Barn, on the west side of campus, off of Minett Drive.
Students and faculty from RIT’s School for American Crafts Glass Program make one-of-a-kind pumpkins and gourds using traditional hand-blown glass techniques. The prices range from $25 to $300 (cash and checks accepted only).
The proceeds of the sale benefit the Visiting Artist Series in the School for American Crafts glass program and the RIT Women’s Council scholarships. Organizers raised more than $20,000 last year.
