Help WITR Win mtvU’s College Radio Woodie Award

Rochester Institute of Technology’s radio station—WITR-FM (89.7)—has been selected as one of the top 10 best college radio stations in the country.

To help WITR win the 2013 mtvU College Radio Woodie Award, vote at the mtvU Woodie Awards website. You can vote as many times as you want. Voting ends at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 14.

Based in RIT’s Student Alumni Union, WITR is an indie station that plays everything from the latest critically acclaimed album by world-famous bands to just-released LPs created by local artists.

“I think what makes WITR such a wonderful station is our DJs have the freedom to play the music they love,” says Devin Caskie, a fourth-year new media design student from Waterford, Va., and development director at WITR. “One second you could be listening to someone’s show that is mainly synth electro-pop and the next show could be a DJ who really enjoys jam bands.”

The College Radio Woodie highlights the best college radio stations in America and celebrates the hard work and talent of the people that keep campuses rocking. The winning station will be announced during the Woodie Awards in Austin, Texas, which air on mtvU and on MTV at 8 p.m. March 17.
