Mark Berman to Talk at RIT on Global Environment for Network Innovations
GENI specialist tackles critically important issues in global communications network
The School of Informatics in the B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences at Rochester Institute of Technology is hosting Mark Berman, Global Environment for Network Innovations specialist, at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Golisano College auditorium. Berman is a Global Environment for Network Innovations experimentation director and vice president for technology development at BBN Technologies.
The Global Environment for Network Innovations is a countrywide virtual laboratory for at-scale network experiments to explore and create new possibilities of Internets.
Berman will talk on the scientific, social and innovation challenges in today’s networks, explain possible future challenges, and explore the Global Environment for Network Innovation’s role in testing the new technology needed for future Internets.
Currently, the Global Environment for Network Innovation’s research is being undertaken in more than a dozen campuses, two national backbones and several regional networks. The main goal of this research is to be the first to explore future Internets at scale and use the findings as a basis for innovation in science, security, technologies, services and applications.
