New Directors of Information and Technology Services Join RIT

Rochester Institute of Technology welcomes a pair of new directors under chief information officer Diane Barbour. David Hostetter and Emilio DiLorenzo have joined RIT to help manage information and technology services (ITS).

Hostetter has become customer support services director. In his new position, he will oversee several areas in ITS, including customer support, distributed support and systems development. DiLorenzo will serve as technical support services director. His role is to handle RIT’s infrastructure, including data-center operations, database administration, systems programming, network administration and telecommunications.

"We are fortunate to have attracted these two talented individuals to RIT," says Barbour. "I am confident that they will make a valuable contribution to the future of ITS."

Hostetter was formerly global program manager at Bausch and Lomb, handling business-process reengineering. He also led a series of initiatives involving global software-development projects, PC network administration, help-desk services, e-mail systems and videoconferencing services.

DiLorenzo worked at the company, EDS, as technical support-services director, leading a team of engineers in the delivery of server application services at Xerox. He has experience in establishing high-availability clustering of mission-critical business applications with the objective of achieving an unmanned operational environment.
