Rochester community invited to observe total lunar eclipse at RIT Observatory on May 15
RIT is inviting the community to come watch the moon as it tries to hide in the Earth’s shadow. The RIT Observatory will host an open house from 10 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on May 15 that is free and open to the public.

2021-2022 Distinguished Alumni Awards
The Distinguished Alumni Awards are presented annually by each of RIT’s nine colleges, the School of Individualized Study, and the Graduate School to alumni who have performed at the highest levels of their profession or who have contributed to the advancement and leadership of civic, philanthropic, or service organizations. It is the highest award an RIT college can bestow upon its alumni.

Professor emeritus inducted into international Gravure Cylinder Society
Robert Eller, research professor emeritus in RIT’s College of Engineering Technology, was recently honored by the Gravure Cylinder Society as a member of the class of 2021. Recognized for his research in reinventing the gravure cylinder—the image carrier in gravure printing— Eller was formally inducted into the national society in April.

RIT celebrated its 137th academic convocation Friday morning in the Gordon Field House and Activities Center. Keynote speaker Kimberly Bryant, founder of the nonprofit organization Black Girls CODE, told the graduates to be proud of their achievement, be excited about what is next in their lives, and remember—with grace—what it took to get to this milestone.

Baja SAE Rochester 2022 takes place June 2-5 at RIT and Palmyra Motocross Raceway
National and international collegiate Baja racecars will start arriving in the next few weeks at RIT for the Baja SAE Rochester event, June 2-5. RIT will host the international off-road event again, for the eighth time.
