    Josephine Bensa, a third-year ultrasound student from Hartford, Conn., sorts through items at the Goodbye, Goodbuy! sale. Students looking for items for their residence halls are urged to visit the popular Goodbye, Goodbuy! sustainability sale, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Frank Ritter Memorial Ice Area through Friday. The sale offers literally tons of items at thrift store prices collected from students who moved out in the spring including clothing, furniture, appliances, school supplies, electronics and more.

Her sister Rachel and mother Christine attended the Resource Fair with her to learn about RIT departments and their offerings. The New Student Orientation Resource Fair, held in the Gordon Field House August 20, provided information regarding resources and services at RIT and in the community.

    Chef de Cuisine Daniel Morales created a pepperoni and sausage pizza at 700 degrees in 100 seconds in a new ceramic pizza oven, producing a crisp crust with a good char. Gracie's, RIT's largest dining facility, has reopened after a $2 million renovation of its kitchen and serving areas this summer.

    College of Science student Manuel Gomez-Bera presented his research “Mapping Student Frames in Upper-level Electricity and Magnetism” during the Undergraduate Research Symposium on August 1. Undergraduate students from all colleges participated in this annual event.

    Kids in Acting and Improvisation 101, a two-week performing arts workshop at Camp Tiger, participate in the trust fall exercise. The pilot program taught by David Munnell (right), senior lecturer in the Department of Performing Arts and Visual Culture and director of the theatre arts in COLA, included word interpretation, acting exercises and the trust fall. The trust fall is a team-building activity in which a member is surrounded by others for support so he/she doesn't fall. Camp Tiger, formerly known as Kids on Campus, is a summer day-camp at RIT running from July 8 through Aug. 2.

    The Gene Polisseni ice rink gets its yearly layers of ice and new logo to prepare for the fall season. A foundation layer of ice is painted white and then the RIT Tiger and other logos are applied. The final step is an additional layer of ice.

    Varnette Okai, a seventh-grader at Olympia Middle School, shows off her ice cream cone design composed of balloons. RIT’s Liberty Partnerships Program's workshop with Kelly Cheatle ('98, '99 illustration and graphic design), artistic director at Airigami https://www.airigami.com, ended with a fashion show of costumes created with balloons. RIT’s Liberty Partnerships Program is part of the New York State Education Department’s Statewide Plan for Higher Education. The program's goal is to increase high school graduation rates.

    RIT’s Kate Gleason College of Engineering hosts RoboCamp over several weeks during the summer for students in grades K-10. While engaging in hands-on activities, the students explored engineering concepts using motors, sensors and programming skills to build robots for fun and challenging team-based projects and friendly competitions. The camp is open to students with varying experience levels but all with an interest in learning more about robotics.
