Intramurals set up a canoe battleship tournament in the Field House competition pool April 28. Teams of four people in a canoe with buckets try to fill the other canoes and sink them. 

Kwaku Alston (’94 photo illustration) talks with students about their work and the evolution of his photography career during a group meeting in the MAGIC Center. Alston is at RIT for the Futurists Symposium at 11:00 a.m., MAGIC Center 2180 during Imagine RIT. Undergraduate students from universities in the Northeast competed at the 2019 American Society of Civil Engineers concrete canoe and steel bridge event. Teams displayed canoes and built bridge structures (RIT team shown here) as part of the competition.

Members of the RIT African Percussion Ensemble performed at their spring concert in the SAU Fireside Lounge. The group, directed by Kerfala Fana Bangoura, includes students, faculty and staff who enjoy exploring the dynamic percussive traditions of Guinea.

Peter Houk, director of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Glass Lab, demonstrates 3D glass printing in the glass shop. Houk was here for a two-day lecture/demo visit with MIT researchers Daniel Lizardo and Michael Stern to present the integration of art, design, engineering and technology.

Color Run participants are doused with colored powders at the end of the race. Color Run is a 5k annual event to raise awareness about resources for the LGBTQIA community at RIT and in Rochester. The race is sponsored by RIT Center for Residence Life and RIT Spectrum.

Cheat Codes, an electronic music DJ trio from Los Angeles, performed at SpringFest April 13.
