    Rob Mejia, center, a fourth-year industrial engineering student from Holliston, Mass., and Kristy Figueroa, a first-year psychology major from Rochester, N.Y., received information about volunteering from Veronica Wilson. Wilson represented Champion Academy, an organization that mentors area youth. Nearly 30 Rochester agencies had representatives to talk to about volunteer opportunities at the Community Service Fair on Feb. 14.

    “Wandering in Deep Deep Dreams,” an exhibit of art by Dongyi Wu ’15, is on view through Feb. 18 at Gallery r. The exhibit includes sculpture, wearable designs and installations. Wu has a master’s degree in metals and jewelry design from RIT.

    The first STEM Education Research Micro-summit, held on Feb. 6, brought together RIT faculty from across campus to share their education and discipline-based education research in STEM. The gathering was hosted by RIT’s Center for Advancing STEM Teaching, Learning & Evaluation (CASTLE) and the College of Applied Science and Technology to make connections and encourage collaborations.

    Ian Kurtz, a fourth-year mechanical engineering major from Douglassville, Pa., tested a flight simulator at the US Marine Corps Officer Programs set-up at RIT’s 2018 Spring Career Fair on Feb. 7. More than 230 companies searching for skilled employees attended the fair, and more than 5,000 students and alumni were expected.

    William Harris Gallery hosted an artist talk with 11 photojournalism seniors about their year-long capstone projects. The exhibiting visual artists are: Bryan Bennett, Cal Cary, Kaitlyn Dolan, Emily Hunt, Dani Lyman, Brittainy Newman, JuliAnna Patino, Joey Ressler, Malinda Ruit, Annika Servin and Daniel Vasta. “No Permanence” will be on view through Feb.16 in the gallery.

    RIT’s College Activities Board hosted its annual Super Bowl party in the Gordon Field House on Feb. 4. The game was projected and captioned on a giant screen. The free event included pizzas, wings, prizes and giveaways.
