Portrait of Giving: Photo School’s Annual Holiday Auction Supports Cancer Research
Cameras, photo equipment up for bid on Dec. 16 with proceeds to benefit The Jimmy Fund
Holiday shopping will be both fun and rewarding as RIT’s School of Photographic Arts and Sciences hosts its annual holiday auction on Dec. 16.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Jimmy Fund, an organization that supports the battle against cancer in children and adults at Boston’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Items up for bid include digital cameras, photo printers, photo paper, light kits, and gift certificates. Bidding gets underway at 5 p.m. in the lobby of Frank E. Gannett Hall.
In addition to the live auction, faculty- and alumni-donated prints will be offered in a silent auction.
Students from the Biomedical Photography Student Organization are organizing the auction and have been working with area businesses to obtain items. Bill DuBois, a professor in the School of Photographic Arts and Sciences, reprises his role as auctioneer.
Free pizza and soft drinks will be served. For more information, call RIT’s School of Photographic Arts and Sciences at 585-475-2717.
