President Destler Jump Starts Seminar on Chevy Volt

Rochester Institute of Technology President Bill Destler shows off his Chevy Volt at the 2011 Imagine RIT festival. Destler, along with university researchers, will discuss the technology and research behind the vehicle at a seminar on campus at 1 p.m. on Wednesday.

Rochester Institute of Technology will host a seminar at 1 p.m. June 22 in which President Bill Destler and university researchers give a first-hand look at the most fuel-efficient compact car on the market, the Chevy Volt.

Destler, who owns a Volt, along with Nabil Nasr, director of the Golisano Institute for Sustainability at RIT, offer a glimpse at the technology behind the vehicle. They will also discuss the university’s role with General Motors in the research and development of the electric car.

The seminar is open to the public and will include a demo and test drives.

WHEN: 1 p.m. June 22 (Test drives start at 2 p.m.)
