Professors publish article on how students think about chromosomes

Crystal Uminski, a postdoctoral research associate; Dina Newman, professor; and L. Kate Wright, professor, all from the Thomas H. Gosnell School of Life Sciences, published “Probing Visual Literacy Skills Reveals Unexpected Student Conceptions of Chromosomes” in the journal CBE—Life Sciences Education. The research focuses on how drawings of chromosomes reveal unexpected ways in which students are thinking about chromosome structure and function.
