Registration Continues for Microelectronic Engineering Conference

The electrical and microelectronic engineering department will present its annual conference May 9-11 at the RIT Inn & Conference Center as well as in the Kate Gleason College of Engineering. The department has hosted the event for 29 years and brings together educators, researchers and students to learn more about the evolving semiconductor and nanotechnology fields.

Registration is open for Rochester Institute of Technology’s annual Microelectronic Engineering Conference May 9-11. The conference, in its 29th year, is free and participants can register online. The event is for educators, researchers and professionals in the semiconductor and nanotechnology industries.

Keynote presenter is Richard Hill, device engineer of International SEMATECH. Hill will discuss “200mm III-V on Silicon Transistors.”

The conference begins with a reception and dinner at 6 p.m. May 9 at the RIT Inn & Conference Center. Opening remarks and technical presentations take place at 8:30 a.m. May 10 in the Xerox Auditorium, in RIT’s Kate Gleason College of Engineering. The conference concludes with sessions from 8 a.m. to noon May 11.

Presentations will feature research in areas specific to the semiconductor industry as the field continues to evolve into nanotechnology, micro- and nano-systems and energy domains. This event will also showcase the capstone work of several senior design student projects with topics including non-volatile memory, strained silicon, high power field effect transistors and electron beam lithography.
