RIT Cary Graphic Arts Collection hosts lecture by Hugh Bryden Oct. 5
Scottish artist to discuss his career as a printmaker and poetry publisher
The Cary Graphic Arts Collection is hosting an informal book chat with Hugh Bryden, Scottish printmaker and poetry publisher, from noon to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 5 at RIT’s Cary Collection on the second floor of The Wallace Center.
Bryden took early retirement after 30 years as an art teacher in August 2005 to concentrate on printmaking and artists books. Throughout his teaching career he continued to practice as a printmaker and painter. He is a regular exhibitor in national and international exhibitions and was involved for a number of years in the gallery business in Dumfries, Scotland. He is now the proprietor of Roncadora Press.
Bryden’s visit is sponsored by RIT’s School of Art at the invitation of printmaking professor Keith Howard. While here, Bryden will be experimenting with non-toxic printing inks for letterpress in the Cary Collection pressroom.
