RIT Diversity Team to Host Local Affinity Group True Networking Thursdays
Event on Sept. 15 to feature university diversity programs and RIT/NTID Dance Company
Local nonprofit leadership group True Networking Thursdays will hold its 13th anniversary celebration at Rochester Institute of Technology at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 15. The event takes place in the Louise M. Slaughter Hall.
It is free and open to members of the group and their guests.
RIT’s Office for Diversity and Inclusion will host the event and showcase some of its core programs, the Multicultural Center for Academic Success, the Native American Future Stewards Program and the McNair Scholars, student research projects, university-wide programs, as well as campus-based programs such as the AALANA Collegiate Association. The student poetry group Mental Graffiti and RIT/NTID Dance Company, led by Thomas Warfield, director/choreographer, will perform for guests.
True Networking Thursdays, part of the African-American Roundtable, is a networking and leadership event for area professionals in academia, business and nonprofit organizations. More than 70 members and 20 RIT students, faculty and staff are expected to attend.
