RIT Hosts Annual Classic Car Display on Wednesday
Show features 40 ‘classic rides’ belonging to employees, alumni, students and others
Rochester Institute of Technology is hosting its annual Bob Howie Memorial Classic Car Display 11 a.m.–3 p.m. on Wednesday. The show, in conjunction with RIT’s yearly Staff Appreciation Day & Community Picnic, will feature about 40 classics belonging to RIT employees, retirees, trustees, alumni and students.
The show is named for Bob Howie, who first organized the classic car display, in 2006, as an RIT retiree of Campus Connections bookstore. Howie died in 2008.
“The Bob Howie Memorial Classic Car Display is always a fun way for participants to show their classic and/or unique ‘rides,’ and for picnic attendees a pleasant way to relax, reminisce and get a close-up look at the vehicles,” says Dave Harris, director of training, utilities and environmental management for RIT Facilities Management Services and the car display’s organizer.
Sponsored by RIT Staff Council, the show will be in D Lot, near Gordon Field House and Activities Center.
