RIT will host an information session for dislocated workers July 12 in the Bausch and Lomb Center. The session will provide information on changing careers, financial aid and tuition discounts.

With the sluggish economic recovery continuing to dominate news headlines, Rochester Institute of Technology wants to help local residents by providing viable options during this challenging time.

RIT’s Office of Part-time and Graduate Enrollment Services is offering a free session especially for dislocated workers 5:30-7 p.m. July 12 in RIT’s Bausch & Lomb Center. Program participants can gather information about tuition assistance programs, changing careers and which jobs are currently in demand.

“Given the continuing economic conditions, more individuals are making good use of their time to finish a degree or start a new one to make themselves more marketable,” says Mandie Klingelhoffer, assistant director of RIT’s Part-time and Graduate Enrollment Services. “Oftentimes these individuals can utilize severance or retraining benefits that are available to them to assist in financing their education. Our goal is to provide these workers with the tools they need to move forward.”
