RIT leaders encourage students to voice their opinions at SPEAK UP Day April 29

“Connect” is the overarching theme of Student Government leadership at Rochester Institute of Technology. One way university leaders are encouraging students to become more connected to their campus is through the first-ever Student SPEAK UP Day, 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. April 29, along various locations on RIT’s Quarter Mile.
Student Government and more than 55 campus departments will man tables along RIT’s Quarter Mile and in college buildings to encourage students to fill out a survey soliciting feedback. Student Government will also host a barbecue for participating students and is coordinating prize giveaways through campus departments.
“We want students to know, not just hope, that their constructive feedback is taken seriously and into consideration,” says Matt Danna, RIT Student Government president. “Student Government is an advocate of continual progress and healthy improvement of RIT, and we developed Student SPEAK UP Day to foster student feedback, forward-thinking ideas and face-to-face communication.”
Collected surveys will be reviewed in the next two weeks and results will be published at www.sg.rit.edu. Survey results will also be presented next fall during meetings of RIT Institute Council, Academic Senate, Staff Council and the Board of Trustees.
