Jacqueline Mozrall has been appointed dean of Saunders College of Business at Rochester Institute of Technology.

She has been serving as interim dean of the business school since last July and will assume her new post immediately. Mozrall is a highly respected academic who has held several key leadership roles at RIT, most recently as senior associate dean of RIT’s Kate Gleason College of Engineering.

“As an RIT alumna who has been an integral part of our faculty for the past two decades, Jacquie is a committed educator, an able administrator and an innovative leader who will advance Saunders College’s core commitment to providing its students with an outstanding business education,” said RIT President Bill Destler. “She has the global perspective and experience to strategically balance our local campus interests with national quality imperatives.”

RIT Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Jeremy Haefner said there were a significant number of viable and highly qualified candidates in the nationwide search but Mozrall distinguished herself with her vision for the college, her experience and skills as a leader and her significant understanding of and dedication to RIT.

“Jacquie embodies all that is great about RIT and during the past few months as interim dean, she has demonstrated a bold vision for Saunders as a college of business inside a leading institute of technology—with her ability to work closely with Saunders faculty, her passion for connecting directly with students to understand their needs, and her ties to building strong connections to alumni and community. Her leadership capabilities and deep commitment to collaborative engagement and research make her well qualified to take Saunders College to the next level as a distinctive and distinguished school of business.”

Mozrall received her Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from RIT in 1987 and holds a place in RIT’s athletics Hall of Fame for an outstanding career in soccer. She received a master’s degree in industrial engineering from North Carolina State University and a Ph.D. in industrial engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Since 2003, Mozrall has served as a member of the executive management team for the award-winning Women in Engineering at RIT, has been actively engaged as program evaluator and training mentor for the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET), and served on the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC/ABET).

Mozrall, who lives in Pittsford with her husband, Christopher, and their three children, is eagerly looking forward to her new role. “I’ve always considered RIT as my professional home since undergraduate school and I am honored and humbled by this opportunity to serve as dean of Saunders College,” said Mozrall.

“Over the past several months I have had the opportunity to work with outstanding faculty, staff and alumni who are advancing the vision of Saunders College as a transformative leader in business education. Our students and graduates are making a difference as business professionals and leaders in their organizations and the global economy. I’m proud to be a member of the Saunders team.”
