RIT Performing Artists Concert Series Presents ‘Jazzography’ March 16

The Rod Blumenau Quartet will perform March 16 as part of the Performing Artists Concert Series.

The 17th season of Rochester Institute of Technology’s Performing Artists Concert Series continues with a unique look at the world of jazz. Jazzography is at 8 p.m. March 16 in Ingle Auditorium, Student Alumni Union.

The Rod Blumenau Quartet will perform the many different styles of jazz that arose across the Western Hemisphere and will speak about the reasons for their distinguishing features and differences. Locales include New Orleans, Chicago, Kansas City, Texas, west coast California, east coast New York, Brazil and others. The show includes well-known music as well as obscure works that illustrate a particular style in all new arrangements.

The show features Rod Blumenau on piano and saxophone with his crew of multi-instrumentalists—Gabe Condon on guitar, banjo, vocals and drums; Jeff Campbell on acoustic bass, electric bass and tuba; and Brad Paxton on drums and vibraphone.
