RIT recognized by ‘Fiske Guide to Colleges’

Programs in Kate Gleason College of Engineering also cited

Rochester Institute of Technology is once again being recognized in the Fiske Guide to Colleges, this time in the 2014 edition.

Fiske describes RIT as “the largest of New York’s three major technological universities. The school is strong in anything related to computing, art and design, and engineering.”

The guidebook also singled out programs in the Kate Gleason College of Engineering where RIT was highlighted on a list for “Engineering – Top Technical Institute” (among 17 schools); and “Private University Strong in Engineering” (among 32 schools). The two lists were grouped with no rankings.

Fiske went on to praise RIT for preparing students for the workforce.

“Students seeking up-to-date technological preparation will be at home at RIT. Those who are geared up and ready to ‘go professional’ will be happy to know that the school places more than 3,000 juniors and seniors in full-time paid positions through its co-op program.”

Fiske Guide to Colleges 2014 is a selective look at about 300 colleges and universities in the U.S., Canada, and Great Britain. There are more than 4,000 colleges and universities in the United States.
