RIT renames global campus to RIT Kosovo
The agreement was announced during a Global Governance Forum

The American University in Kosovo Foundation signed an agreement this month to officially name the Kosovo campus RIT Kosovo. Rochester Institute of Technology and the American University in Kosovo Foundation Inc. signed an agreement to officially rename the RIT/A.U.K. global campus to RIT Kosovo.
The announcement was made early May during the first Global Governance Forum held on the RIT campus. RIT President Bill Destler and RIT Provost Jeremy Haefner celebrated with three international colleagues from RIT Kosovo: Vice-President for Academic Affairs Daniel Cosentino, Academic Senate Chair Mimoza Mustafa and Public Policy faculty Robert Muharremi.
“RIT Kosovo, formerly the American University in Kosovo, is not really an ‘American’ university, but rather an international partnership of the kind that we will increasingly need if we are to work together globally toward our shared goals,” said James Myers, RIT associate provost of international education and global programs.
Founded in September 2003, RIT Kosovo is located in the capital city of Prishtina and currently serves students from more than 20 countries around the world. The university offers undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programs in the English language, and is the only Kosovo institution of higher education awarding American degrees.
RIT is also home to RIT Croatia, RIT Dubai, and has academic partnerships in China, Dominican Republic as well as several other nations.
