RIT seeks companies for Capacity Building Program
Intensive, customized training program begins July 25; space is limited
Rochester Institute of Technology’s Center for Urban Entrepreneurship (CUE) is seeking companies that have been in business for at least one year to participate in its Capacity Building Program, which begins July 25. Space is limited to 10 businesses per session. The Capacity Building Program assesses the businesses’ current structure and, along with step-by-step training from professors and local successful entrepreneurs, focuses on the components identified as most important for growth.
Participants in the Capacity Building Program will meet twice a month for six months at CUE’s offices at 40 Franklin St., and will learn about elevator pitches, collaboration, cash flow, risk tolerance, task delegation, business plans, human resources for small businesses, social media marketing, accounting and bookkeeping, and business forecasting, among other topics.
The cost for the program is $250; training materials and lunches are included.
RIT’s CUE is located in the heart of the city’s downtown innovation zone and is working to help reshape the regional economy and build wealth within the urban community by being the hub for urban entrepreneurial programs and research. CUE offers general educational programming, customized training, mentoring and consulting between entrepreneurs and experts, and deal flow strategies that result in funding and revenue-generating opportunities.
