RIT SportsZone named an Emmy Award finalist
The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Foundation has announced that RIT SportsZone is a finalist for the show’s first College Emmy Award.
The sports magazine show, now in its eighth year, is being recognized for this season’s premiere episode, which featured NHL players on campus preparing for their upcoming season and one RIT alumnus working behind the scenes in minor league baseball.
The College Emmy Awards are a national competition recognizing excellence in student-produced video and film production. Winners of the 31st annual awards will be announced this April in Los Angeles.
RIT SportsZone has already been honored more than 20 times during the course of its eight-year history. Last season, the show was awarded a Silver Telly, which is considered one of the highest honors in broadcasting.
