Annual School of Photographic Arts and Sciences holiday auction set for Dec. 15

Bill DuBois, professor emeritus in the School of Photographic Arts and Sciences, will again serve as auctioneer for the holiday auction. This year’s auction will help benefit Genesee Center for the Arts and Education, a community visual arts center located in Rochester.

Students in the School of Photographic Arts and Sciences at Rochester Institute of Technology are offering holiday shoppers the gift of photography all while supporting the local art community.

This year’s auction will help benefit Genesee Center for the Arts and Education, a community visual arts center in Rochester.

Photography gear will be up for auction at this year’s event, including digital cameras, photo printers, photo paper and light kits. Attendees can also bid on gift certificates. Photo prints donated by faculty and alumni will also be up for grabs. The school’s holiday auction kicks off at 5 p.m. Dec. 15 in the lobby of Frank E. Gannett Hall.

A portion of this year’s proceeds will also benefit the organizers, Photo House at RIT, a specialty housing unit for photography majors.

Photo House has been working with local businesses to obtain items and sponsorship for the event. Bill DuBois, professor emeritus in the School of Photographic Arts and Sciences, will again serve as auctioneer for the fundraiser.
