This year’s Mud Tug will be held Sept. 25.

Rochester Institute of Technology students will show that they aren’t afraid to get dirty for a good cause. The 15th annual Mud Tug will take place at noon on Sept. 25 in the field behind Grace Watson Hall on the east side of campus. Mud Tug, sponsored by RIT’s Phi Kappa Psi and Zeta Tau Alpha Greek organizations, is an annual tug-of-war event between teams of 10 competing in all-male, all-female and co-ed brackets, taking place in a huge mud pit.

The winners will celebrate. The losers will take a mud bath.

All of the proceeds from this year’s event will be donated to Hillside Family of Agencies.

This year, Mug Tug features an administrative “Dream Team,” including RIT President Bill Destler; RIT Student Government President Greg Pollock; and the RIT mascot, Ritchie the Tiger.

“The combination of school spirit and everyone working hard as a team together for a good cause—it is all emblematic of what RIT should be all about,” says Destler.
